(Matthew 25:31-32) “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.”
Jesus Glorified God while He was alive on Earth and God will Glorify Jesus when He returns.
CROP HUNGER Walk
Trinity Supports Crop Hunger Walk
Read Carefully, even in troubling times Hunger Persists
Please Support our Spencerport CROP walkers by either joining a team or make a donation at our website
The CROP (Christian Rural Overseas Program) Hunger Walk is a fundraising event sponsored by Church World Service (CWS). Last year was the 50th anniversary of the CROP walk. Spencerport area churches have held a walk for almost as many years along the beautiful Erie Canal, the first Sunday in May. This year due to social distancing our walk will be a VIRTUAL WALK. What does this mean? It means that we will NOT be walking as a large group on May 3rd at 1:00PM. It DOES mean that we will be walking or hiking with people we live with, or alone, in support of the CWS mission to help stop hunger around the world as well as supporting our local ecumenical food shelf, in Spencerport, as 25% of the money raised stays here in Spencerport.
As we have seen on the nightly news our country, and others, is in need of food for those who have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As the Crop Walk slogan states: “We Walk Because They Walk”. This phrase was coined because of places where people still need to walk for miles to get food and clean drinking water. Here is one such story:
Lesly Miguel lives in rural Honduras. She and her parents participate in a CWS program where they learn how to diversify and grow their crops. Prior to the program, their crops were limited to rice, beans and some coffee beans. Now, they grow a variety of vegetables, fruit trees and other grains. They have also learned how to raise chickens and rabbits and start a tilapia pond to incorporate protein into their family’s diet."
